Even as Jesus set his sights on the finish line, from our perspective, the road to Calvary was long and winding. It involved a frenzied parade through the raucous streets of Jerusalem. For His faithful disciples and enemies alike, it seemed like it would all come to a head when Jesus attempted to ride victoriously into Zion as a new Messiah, ready to take the reins and drive out the occupying Empire. Of course, that episode was only setting the stage for a much larger drama to unfold, one that shook the foundations of our moral universe and redefined our understanding of God Himself. It was a time of great foment, trouble, confusion and shattered expectations.
Today, Bram and Sandi take a new look at the events of Palm Sunday, and from the perspective of a modern world just as shaken as the First Century AD. Give a listen and decide for yourself!
