While in Sudan on one of their missions, the Nelsons learned about and met with several Eritrean pastors who were trying to build a transit house for Eritrean refugees who had walked hundreds of miles over rugged mountains and across the desert fleeing from the repression happening in that country. After hearing the pastors pour out their hearts with tears streaming, Norm reached out and took their hands and by faith pledged to come home and raise the funds for the home. It was purchased within 4 months. Only eternity will show how many lives have been saved and changed through that respite home and those dedicated pastors.
